Data consulting services that make data do more

DI Squared has guided more than 200 companies through data strategy, engineering, migration, and analytics work since 2008. Our four practices share one spine: a four-stage method (Discover, Map, Navigate, Adjust) that takes a client from current-state diagnosis to a working environment that keeps adding value as priorities shift. Vendor-neutral, but fluent in the platforms that matter.

What does a data consulting firm do, and what does DI Squared do differently

A data consulting firm helps organizations turn raw operational data into decisions, products, and reporting the business can rely on. That work spans four overlapping disciplines: defining the strategy, engineering the pipelines and platforms underneath, safely migrating data as systems evolve, and building the analytics and insights layer that turns information into action.

DI Squared was founded in Atlanta in 2008 by consultants who had spent careers on both the business side and the technology side. That heritage shapes how we work. We do not arrive with a slide deck and a generic roadmap. We assess the environment first, document the strategy in language the team and the CFO can both work from, and then partner through implementation rather than handing a binder over the wall.

The four practices below are the most common ways clients engage us. Most engagements blend two or three. A migration almost always exposes strategy gaps. An analytics build almost always exposes engineering gaps. We staff the practice the work actually needs.

The four-stage method

Every engagement, regardless of practice, follows the same four stages. The depth varies. The spine does not.

1

Discover

Discover diagnoses the current state. We ask what you are trying to achieve with your data, then we assess the environment, expose risk, and surface the issues that strategy decisions hinge on.

2

Map

Map documents the strategy. We pinpoint objectives, requirements, and current state, then consolidate into documentation the team and the CFO can both work from.

3

Navigate

Navigate implements with confidence. We identify the most valuable first steps and partner through implementation, change management, and ongoing monitoring.

4

Adjust

Adjust adapts as priorities evolve. Budgets, leadership, and market conditions change. We help the capability keep adding tangible value over time.

The reason this matters: Most failed data programs were not failed builds. They were failed transitions, from project to operations or from one leadership era to the next. Adjust is built in for a reason.

Industries we serve

From life science to lifestyle, we deliver across utilities (our deepest delivery muscle), healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, retail and distribution, financial services, and energy. Each industry brings its own reporting cadences, regulatory needs, and data shapes. Our consultants have shipped in each.

Frequently asked

Services, answered.

A: Data strategy consulting is the planning work: assessing current state, defining objectives, and producing a documented roadmap leadership can fund. Data analytics consulting is the building work: dashboards, semantic models, self-service environments. Most clients need both, in sequence. We can deliver either in isolation, but a strategy engagement almost always precedes a successful analytics build.

A: No. We are a Qlik Elite Solution Provider and a three-time Qlik Solution Partner of the Year, so our Qlik bench is deep. We also deliver on Power BI, Tableau, and Looker, and engineering work on Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Fivetran, and the major cloud platforms. We are vendor-neutral, but fluent in the platforms that matter.

A: A Discover assessment is usually two to six weeks. A Map (strategy and roadmap) engagement is usually six to twelve weeks. Navigate (implementation) varies widely with scope, from a few months for a focused analytics build to a year or more for a platform migration. Adjust is ongoing and sized to the client’s pace.

A: DI Squared is headquartered in Atlanta, and we deliver projects across the United States, Canada, and with organizations headquartered throughout Europe. Most engagements run remotely, with on-site work scheduled around key milestones such as kickoff, design reviews, go-live support, and leadership presentations.

A: Most clients are not sure at the outset, which is why every engagement starts with Discover. A two-week assessment is enough to tell us whether the issue is strategy, analytics, engineering, migration, or some combination. We scope the build only after Discover, so you fund what the situation actually calls for.

Not sure which practice you need? Start with Discover.

A short, scoped assessment tells us, and you, where the leverage is. Strategy, engineering, migration, analytics, or some blend. We will know in two to six weeks.
